CLOC Process Timeline
Key dates and milestones in the CHSAA Classification process.
2026-28 Cycle
2025
Preliminary classification splits for all sports and activities are released. These splits are not final and may change.
Schools can begin submitting declarations for the 2026-28 classification cycle. This includes Oct. 1 enrollment count data, sport participation declarations, and any co-operative team arrangements.
The CHSAA office will send schools information about how to submit their declarations in the CLOC dashboard.
The deadline for schools to submit their CLOC declarations is Oct. 15.
The place-down data for fall sports and activities will be available in the school's CLOC dashboard. Qualifying schools must notify the CHSAA office of their program's intent to accept the place-down by Dec. 1.

With the conclusion of the state spirit championships the weekend prior, the data for fall sports place-up will be available. Programs that will be placed up will be notified by the CHSAA office, and this information will also be updated in the CLOC dashboard.
The non-public schools enrollment survey, as described by bylaw 1510.1, will be available. The deadline for response is Jan. 15, 2026.

The deadline for schools to submit their co-operative team declarations is Jan. 1, as outlined in bylaw 1790.1 (6).
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) will finalize the enrollment data for all public schools. This is also the deadline for non-public schools to submit their enrollment data.
With enrollment data finalized for the 2025-26 school year, each school's three-year enrollment average will be calculated using data from the 2025-26, 2024-25 and 2023-24 school years.
The CHSAA Legislative Council will meet to vote on bylaw proposals and committee reports. Included is the CLOC report. Upon the final approval of that CLOC report, the 2026-28 enrollment range splits will be finalized.
